This existing facility was an institutional building for persons with an intellectual or physical disability. The existing building required extensive upgrades and an extension was required for 12 new residential units.
The works to Daneswood comprised the following:
1. A single storey extension to rear of the building (8 units), 300m2)
2. New Conservatory to rear elevation
3. Complete refurbishment of the existing facility including new finishes, mechanical and electrical services, new shower rooms, new bedroom etc. (4nr units)
4. External works including new entrance, hard and soft landscaping and new car park.
The project was procured under the GCCC form of contract.
During the project the client’s requirements changed and design changes were introduced. Buildcost worked closely with the Client to value engineer the scheme. We produced a number of savings on the scheme to allow the client to obtain their requirements at very little additional cost. This was a very successful process.
